Scammers only need a few contact details to initiate their plans, so you may conceal that data by hiding your phone number.

Tech news website Alphr recommends the following steps for concealing your contact details on an Android device:

Launch the Phone app. Tap Calls in the Settings list.  Then, select Additional Settings.  Tap Caller ID and wait for the menu to load. Afterward, tap the Hide Number button. 

Lifewire says you may hide your phone number when calling by adding “*67” before entering the number you’d like to contact.

However, you must use this method for every call because there is no built-in feature that automates it. The steps are much simpler for iPhone users:

Alphr reminds users that this feature may not be available depending on your telecommunications provider.
