    MANILA, Philippines — Speaker Martin Romualdez urged the country’s new lawyers to “protect rights and promote justice.”

    Romualdez congratulated the 3,962 passers of the 2024 Bar on behalf of the 307 members of the House of Representatives on Saturday.

    Romualdez continued; “As a fellow lawyer and alumnus of the UP College of Law, I understand the immense effort and sacrifice it takes to reach this milestone. It is not an easy road, but you have proven your resilience and commitment to your dreams.”

    “May your career as a lawyer bring honor to your family, our profession, and the country we all love,” he also said.

    The 2024 Bar examination had a 37.84 percent passing rate out of the total 10,490 takers.

    Kyle Christian Tutor, also from UP, topped the 2024 Bar with a score of 85.770 percent.
