MANILA, Philippines — Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) made its second landfall in the vicinity of Dipaculao, Aurora on Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

In its latest cyclone update, Pagasa said Pepito made landfall at 3:20 p.m.

The super typhoon was packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (kph) near its center, with gusts of up to 305 kph. It was moving northwestward at 25 kph, state meteorologists added.

Pepito recorded its first landfall in the vicinity of Panganiban, Catanduanes on Saturday evening.

According to Pagasa, stormy weather conditions are expected in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Laguna, and Rizal.

“Possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy to intense with at times torrential rains may be experienced in the said areas, with moderate to significant threat to lives and properties due to strong winds,” the state weather bureau said in a 4 p.m. forecast.

Meanwhile, the following areas may experience rains with gusty winds due to Pepito:

Occidental Mindoro Oriental Mindoro Marinduque Camarines Norte Camarines Sur The rest of Cagayan Valley The rest of Calabarzon

These areas may likewise expect possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains, with minimal to minor threat to lives and properties due to strong winds.

The rest of Mimaropa may also see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the super typhoon’s trough, while localized thunderstorms are expected to affect the rest of the country, Pagasa added.
